November: call for submissions

To new and regular contributors to Free Verse Revolution, the November submissions window is open!

The theme will be Metamorphosis and it can be interpreted in any way you wish; whether that be telling a story of change, introducing us to fantastical beasts or taking inspiration from Ovid.

I accept poetry and short pieces of prose which interpret the theme of the month in some way, and only one piece from each writer; but you may send up to three pieces for consideration.

Submission guidelines:

Send your submissions to myscreamingtwenties@gmail.com

November’s theme: Metamorphosis

Interpret the theme any way you wish; you do not need to use the word as a title. Pieces may be previously published.

Submission format: poem/short prose should be attached via email as a Word Document or Google Doc. Please refrain from pasting it into the email as this makes formatting very difficult.

Images: if you wish to send an accompanying image with your piece, please attach this separate to the document.

Short bio: if this is your first time submitting work for consideration, include a short biography and relevant links to your work.

There are only 17 available spaces in November so please be aware only the strongest pieces will be accepted and spaces may go very quickly. If your piece is unfortunately rejected this month, please do not hesitate to respond to December’s call for submissions.

I look forward to hearing from you!

Kristiana, x

    1. The bio can be beneath the submitted poem, in the email or separate, I don’t mind. Bios are usually 50 to 150 words (a small paragraph explaining what you do/who you are and where readers can find more of your work). You can put your name/pen name beneath the poem or just sign off the email with your name. There are no word limits.

      Hope this helped!
