an avalanche of ant hills

Hey
you;

want to play a game?

I’ll even let you win, as if
it is all the
same.

Roll these die, making sixes
of two
meager
ones.

Fall in love and call it a madness,
then fall out and find me a fraction of
its sanity lingering.

Witness true beauty,
christened calamity.

Marry rage and sadness and say they’re not a family,
however
dysfunctionally
sound.

Wage your little war in the name of keeping peace,
and try not
drown in
the irony.

Hey,
you;

want to start a fire with me?

Make an avalanche
of ant hills,
an ideology of
racking up the
imaginary kills?

There’s no blue pill or built in failsafe,

just rules I create to quarantine
the outcomes,

until this little game outgrows us and I’m back to playing by
myself,

a madness all its own.
