Lithium

The worst pain
is
a numbness
we met
as kids,

acquaintance in
a flower dress I’d never
have dared kissed.

Just a girl on
a swing, singing songs
by country kings
I watched
walk by every
source of warmth and
preach,
of course, she
loves the
winter best.

Ghost at
this desk when I write,
never quite the same like
us,
but
known enough to be
deserving of
a name.
