Love Songs in Reverse

In my garage bands
of few answers,

a phantom plays the lead.

The mic is empty where
you should be,
exhaling hooks while tapping
your foot and looking back

at me.

A stage fright,
you see, I would have never known
before that
croon,

a voice gone too
soon from
my soundtrack,

C-minor flat in a killing
spree of
octaves.

The words to my oxygen,
but few love songs in
reverse hurt as
much as
the original
ought to.
