Stop Harper

Steward of disparity,
stalwart of personal
gain;

your fifteen minutes near their end
and for it,
clocks will never
read the same.

A neighbourhood
of nays enunciates
lifetimes in the
know
that what you
propose
opposes
a heritage of
growth,

a history we herald
home and
all the capes we
held close as oceans
allowed.

You are dangerous to both,
a scorched
earth ideologue
using fire to fight through
fog,
an attack
dog who’s got
a date with the
back of
sheds.

My, existing in the red has
made me
bitter.

What I meant is…

it’s time for this winter of
discontent to be
given some
spring in
its step,
and our moral debts be

paid.
